MUZN: How does your songwriting come together?
My writings are a reflection of life experience; some good, some not so good.
The situation sparks the theme of what i'm writing about and the theme creates the mood of the music.
It's my feelings and emotions that is attached to the situation that
brings forth the words.

MUZN: What's your philosophy on music today?
Be open minded. If it makes you feel good, then go with it.

MUZN:
Tell us about you, when did you begin writing songs?
Answer: When i was in the sixth grade, my parents got a piano. It made a big impression
on me. Think it was a Story and Clark. I had no formal training for this instrument but i
loved it. I would sit down at the piano and make up my own arrangements. I was terrible!
Just before my eighteenth birthday, i started a career in photography traveling from town to
town taking portraits. Many of the locations used to set up the portrait studio were
American Legions, and V.F.W. Halls and most of these locations had a piano. It was
great! I would get to work early and leave late just so i could tickle the ivory's. This went
on for years. I didn't know much about writing, so i wrote instrumental compositions. I
didn't start writing words for songs until the 80's. What's up with that!

Tell us about your newest release, what can we expect?
Like this cd alot! "Sparkle" has received great reviews. It's a combination of
heart felt songs and music for the imagination. "It's Only Temporary" is a personal favorite.
It's a song about relationships and realizing that we all have our up's and down's and that
we need not to worry, it's only
temporary singing the blues. Loves a good thing! There are eight vocal songs reflecting
love, trust and exceptance and four instrumental soundtracks to lift your spirits and
imagination. Alot of feeling and emotion went into these recordings. The "Sparkle" cd is
available on-line at cdstreet.com, amazon.com and cdbaby.com. Mp3's can be listened to

MUZN:
How did you get into music?
In 1989 or around that time, i made the decision to get out of photography and
pursue music as a career. A good friend of mine "Bill" invited me to his home in the rolling
hills of south central kentucky where a new chapter in my life began. I met a fantastic
group of people who love music. They even like my music. Their encouragment, support
and love helped me to grow not only as a person, but also musically. In the mid-ninety's i
was given the opportunity to work at Summer Shade Recording Studio where my
understanding of songwriting and music composition took another step forward. Learned
alot from the talents of other studio musicians, performed on stage and learned alot about
sound engineering. Got the opportunity to work with artist such as Lonzo and Oscar of the
Grand Ole Opry, The Stewart Family, radio/broadcaster Stan McKenny, Doc Jones, The
Campbell Girls and many others. How did i get into music? One song at a time, good
friends and living in a music environment.
