MUZN: Tell us about you, when did you begin writing songs ?

I guess I started writing songs almost immediately. I started playing guitar when I was 13, My Uncle Jim gave me my first guitar lesson. My family was always into music, so support was there for me. I started writing music at first as a release from life. I would listen to music for hours and hours, just so I could find interesting chord progressions and structure and how it was done. I was always exposed to good versatile music through my family.
-------------------------------------------------------------
MUZN: How many projects are you currently involved in?

I am involved in 3 projects. I just finished my first solo CD titled "Collage" (Hound Sound Productions), not to sound like a salesman here, but it is an instrumental record from a few genres of music that has taken me basically a year to record. I never knew I was so picky. My second project is, in my opinion my most interesting. I am working with a vocalist (Amber Shehadeh) as a co-writer and engineer. The reason I find it so interesting is it forces me to write outside the box for me. Amber has amazing control of her voice and will really make people listen to her. Her first release should be ready this spring. My third project is co-engineering Steve Jenkins second solo release "No Evidence". I am also playing guitar on a few tracks, one of them is on www.soundclick.com under Steve Jenkins site there, titled "sorry for it" . This project to me is rewarding because I have known and collaborated with Steve for years and it never seems like work, it is enjoyable.
-------------------------------------------------------------

MUZN: What's your long-term goal?

I have never been much of a showboat , I enjoy creating more behind the scenes. My long term goal is to keep creating music on my terms, and to collaborate with other musicians. Personally my long term goal is don't die , everything else will just fall into place.
-------------------------------------------------------------
MUZN: How did you get into music?

My family is the reason I am into music. The styles I was exposed to, and the versatility made me want to learn more about music and the instruments I play.
-------------------------------------------------------------
MUZN: How long have you been performing?

Off and on for about 11 years.
-------------------------------------------------------------
MUZN: What bands\artists inspired you the most early on?

Bands or artists who are unique always seem to catch me. When I was younger my family would be in the car riding along and we would all be listening to Fleetwood Mac,The Beatles, or Fats Domino. When at home there would be Mozart, Beethoven. My brother would be listening to alternative music like "They might be giants"" or"The Connells", My sister would be listening to Dance or club music. In my room there would be Eric Johnson,Joe Satriani,Van Halen, Boston, Rush,Yes,Genesis (your typical guitar player music). The nice thing was I learned to appreciate a variety of musical styles.
-------------------------------------------------------------

MUZN: What do you want out of life?

I don't ask for much out of life . I am very happy and content.
-------------------------------------------------------------
MUZN: What is the most important lesson you think you have learned so far?

I beleive versatility is quite important. The more you can expand your knowledge of different styles of music and instruments the better off you will be as a writer or producer.
------------------------------------------------------------- MUZN: Where do you want to be in the future?

I would like to have about 5 projects going on to fill my musical appetite.
-------------------------------------------------------------
MUZN: How many of your songs are 'instant' songs and how many are channeled?

All of my songs are instant. I normally have a progression already worked out before I start playing around with it.
-------------------------------------------------------------
MUZN: Do you have a visual image in your mind as the song is composed, or does that come afterwards as a result of the song?

It is a bit of both. I have an image and an idea where I want to go with a certain progression and I have had the progression create an image.
-------------------------------------------------------------
MUZN: Tell us about your latest project?

I always wanted to see what it would be like to try to compose, play, engineer and produce my own material. I have collaborated for years with other musicians and singer/songwriters. I wanted to acheive writing a whole record of material approaching it from an instrumental spectrum where the muusic stands on its own. I chose "Collage" as the title because I wanted diversity right from the begining. The CD is a journey from Hard Rock too soft acoustic from Jazz phrasing to Funk.
-------------------------------------------------------------
MUZN: Is there anything else you would like to add?

I would love to hear your comments on any project I am involved in. My Project "Collage" can be found for sale through Hound Sound Productions: http://houndsound0.tripod.com
